Zion to Bryce via Cedar City

Greetings!  We are in Cedar City for the night.  Yesterday was a scorcher, 112, and after our morning hikes in the canyon, we spent a fair amount of the afternoon trying to stay cool in the trailer.  We found out that A/C in RV's are great for bringing the temperature down about 20 degrees.  Wasn't quite enough yesterday.  So we decided to take our morning hike in the canyon today and then head out in the direction of our next stop, Bryce Canyon (in our air conditioned truck).  Difficult to get a campsite at the last minute so we ended up in Cedar City.  Beautiful drive, very enjoyable.  Tomorrow we will make a stop at Cedar Breaks National Monument before spending two nights at Bryce Canyon.

We really loved Zion and definitely plan to go back again.  We had a great campsite, were able to walk to the visitor center and shuttle, so we didn't have to drive at all.  Unfortunately, there was a toxic Cyanobacteria Bloom in the river so it was recommended we stay out of the river (which we sure would have loved to have cooled off in😞).

Headed out the East entrance this afternoon:

On the birding front, we saw Scarlet Tanager yesterday evening, beautiful red bird.  Today we saw several Black-throated Gray Warblers, and we think we saw a Blue Grosbeak.  Ralph got a better look at it than I did.
