More Maine Fun

 Hi,

The last couple of days we have spent time with grandkids (of course) and done a little exploring.  Yesterday morning we took a beautiful hike at Dodge Point Preserve just a few miles from Damariscotta and spent the afternoon with the kids.

Today after spending this morning with the kids, we headed to Freeport, where the LL Bean flagship stores (yes, there are several) are located.  Stopped at Reds Eats in Wiscasset so Ralph could have a lobster roll.

Two photos along the Dodge Point Preserve.  We saw a Pileated Woodpecker while walking.  Tried to get a good photo but couldn't.  He looks like Woody the Woodpecker, is about three times the size of most woodpeckers and is very loud.  Very entertaining to watch.

Fun with Monty this morning.  He is always on the go and knows what he wants and likes (as any almost 2-year-old would).

Penny in Pigtails.  Loves to giggle.  She really missed Lucy the first couple of days of school but has adjusted just fine.  No new photos of Lucy but she really loves school.  When I met her at the bus yesterday afternoon she was beaming and kept saying that her day was great.

This afternoon, on the way to LL Bean, we stopped at Reds Eats, a famous lobster roll place in Wiscasset along Highway 1.  The line winds around the block and this line is shorter than usual.  I am embarrassed to say how long we stood in line (so I won't).  Ralph did like the lobster roll but this was definitely something we would not do again (and for me, a chicken sandwich is definitely not worth standing in line for).  This place is so busy that traffic always backs up here.
