Nebraska

 Hi,

Had an easy day driving to Henderson, Nebraska (not Grand Island as I said earlier - it is down the road 30 miles).  Special bonus at a rest stop while still in Kansas where we saw several Baltimore Orioles and a Red-headed Woodpecker, spectacular birds.  It is really cool to be able to see birds that we don't see in the West.

Finally saw gas at $1.99.  It had been at around $2.40-$2.70 in previous states.  So many trucks on the road.  We appreciate the fact that there are a lot of truck stops to accommodate them as we have a lot more room to maneuver the trailer in those.  And they all play country music!

Still lots of corn growing in Nebraska but soybeans are also big.  We like Nebraska, lots of green rolling hills and are looking forward to seeing more of it tomorrow as we head to Iowa.

Much happier with this RV park, much nicer.  Owners so friendly and accommodating - even gave us free firewood.  It's further off the freeway but we can still hear the trucks when the Cicadas have quieted down.

Speaking of Cicadas, they are NOISY!  They have been here for about a week.  But they help drown out the noise of the trucks.  Apparently, there are also Killer Cicada Wasps that arrive in July and are gone by the end of August.  Glad today is September 1😉.  Actually, they are considered beneficial insects because they are insect predators and great pollinators.
