Hello from Goleta,
What a great journey!
We arrived home around 5:00 PM yesterday. We spent a wonderful Monday with my cousin Bev, husband Kevin and son Scott at their home about 30 miles east of Sacramento. It was a beautiful day in the low 80's.
We drove the last 420 miles home yesterday. The truck gave us no further problems and we even tried to get it to replicate the problem when we were a couple of miles from home by putting it back in tow mode and turning on cruise control but it wouldn't do it. So that part of the journey isn't yet over.
We traveled 5056 miles from our home in Maine to our home in Goleta. I have now visited all 50 states (#50 was North Dakota) and all but one national park in the continental US, Isle Royale. We hope to go back to Michigan and see it as well as go back to Mackinac Island in the next year or two. Were we happy to be home? Yes. Were we sad the the trip had ended? Yes to that too.
Thank you for following along with us!
The red line represents our journey from Maine to California and the black line represents our trip in April/May from California to Maine. It felt like we saw so much of the country but when looking at it on the map, I realize that there is so much more to see!
